English language challenges

I can say that my experience learning English at college has been better than in high school, I think that writing paragraphs has helped a lot to improve and have better comprehension of the language and the different ways to say things so we can at least communicate with English speakers. I definitely need to improve my speaking skills, in my mind I can do it perfectly (well, almost) but my mouth doesn’t follow anything my brain says when I have to talk with another person, probably because I get nervous and forget everything that I know, I also have trouble with telling the time and I still get confused the days of the weeks. I usually use English, well, for the class… also when watching series or movies, I put the subtitles also in English so I can understand the words that I don’t know or when the accent it’s too strong for my understanding, if I already watched the series I turn off the subtitles so I can get used to it. Changes to my study programme

 Some changes I would like to make would be: First things first, the quantity of quotas to register on elective subjects, I haven’t experienced that yet since I am on my second year but there have been already some problems because the people who choose graphic design can’t take their careers subject with peace. Second, I would like the college to provide the programs that will be required during the degree, I have understood that the faculty computers have them installed but it still would be great if the university has an agreement with, for example, Adobe and at least have discount for the suite. By the teaching methods, that’s very subjective and depends also on the subject… for my liking and bad luck, I had to take classes with industrial designer’s teachers and didn’t enjoy so much since I prefer graphic design and some teachers were not understanding with the feelings of the students. Time to travel to the future

  Hi! How is everybody doing? This one it’s even harder… what to say? Mmhh, well while I’m writing this I’m watching a k-drama “My name” currently on episode 4 and it’s been good so far, ignoring some scene’s that are too bloody for my liking. In general, it’s quite hard for me to start a new series or even a movie, whenever I look for some I end watching something I already saw before literally, like I have seen Avatar: The Last Airbender 5 times minimum… not that I mind because it’s a good one, but I also know there’s a lot of series to be watched but it’s still really hard for me. I start thinking “what if it’s a bad series and I waste my time?” or “what if it’s too boring? A meal that I really like

  Hello!  This is hard one to do… there are lots of food that I really like. For this time, I’m going to choose pasta, any kind of pasta, ravioli, gnocchi, lasagna, cannelloni, fusilli, sometimes we eat it in salads with some veggies. When talking about the sauce I also enjoy it in many ways, but my preferences are bechamel sauce by its own, a mix of bechamel sauce and pomodoro or bechamel sauce with a teaspoon of basil or parsley pesto. Other few times we make a soy sauce with green onions for a more Asian flavour… as you may see I’m not a big fan of Bolognese, probably because my mom used to cook it a lot of times but now as I cook too, she learned recipes that she also likes and enjoy much as I do.

A little bit about Me

 Hi!  Today I want to talk about Myself, I know, sounds a little bit narcissist but it’s just going to be one thing that I really love. Well, I may have or not an obsession with coffee, like I really enjoy it, from the process of brewing to finally testing it and don’t get me started on the smell… it’s best thing ever! Early this year we bought a coffee grinder, before that we would just buy already grinded coffee and let me say that it’s a total game changer since the coffee it’s freshly grinded the smell and the taste went up several levels since it’s doesn’t have time to oxidize which is in general what gives coffee a really bad and acid flavour. Since we started grinding our coffee at home I have read a lot of techniques for brewing such as water temperature, type of brewing, types of preparations, how to froth milk… my mom even bought me a little hand mixer so I can do it faster! Why did I choose my major?

Hi! This week I’m going to talk about my major: Design… why did I choose it? Well, because I kind of comprehended how could it be, I went to an Art school where I had a graphic design class for one semester, so I learned there some things that I still remember plus the other tips that I got from other classes related to design. Before I had things clear, my mind was a whole mess because at the time I wanted to study Interior Design but since I didn’t find many options I thought “well then, maybe can do Architecture, it seems interesting", so I started to watch a lot of videos of people explaining what the careers are about and the process of some works, after that I took some serious time to think and realized that the better option was Design because I remembered some assignments I had to do for school, how I enjoyed the process and how everything has a place and a reason to be the way they are made into a composition… therefore here am I.
